BIM Manager Part 1

Designed for senior construction professionals and is divided into two Parts i.e. BIM Implementation and Management.

This module on Building Information Modelling (BIM) Implementation and Management is specifically designed for senior construction professionals and is divided into two parts. Part 1 provides BIM managers with an understanding of their roles, responsibilities and job functions, and gives them more information and knowledge on BIM software and issues, BIM Protocols (including the standards used), and the Employer's Information Requirements (EIR), which are needed to develop a successful BIM Execution Plan (BEP).

Course Outcome

Upon the completion of this programme, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand BIM manager roles, responsibilities and job functions
  • Gain more knowledge on BIM software and issues
  • Understand basic information on BIM Protocols, including the standards used
  • Understand the EIR that needs to be developed at an early stage of a BIM project
  • Understand the development of a BEP and its relation with BS 1192:2007 and PAS 1192-2

Pre-Requisite

  1. Has completed BIM Concept & Theory
  2. 5 years working experience in Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) related field OR 5 years working experience in teaching final year subject in Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) related degree course
  3. Diploma OR Degree Holder Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) related course
  4. Tacit knowledge of BIM tools & concept
  5. Knowledgeable in Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC)
